Volleyball NSW beach events portfolio manager Aurélien Bova said they were excited to be heading to the Hastings with plans already in place to return in 2022.
"It's all regional; we have clubs in Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour and Wollongong, but we never have something for them and they all have to travel to Sydney to get points for the national tour," he said.
"This helps them not have to travel and encourages them to participate. It's the first time an event of this scale has been in Port Macquarie and hopefully we'll come back next year."
At least six local teams per gender will compete over the three-day event at Town Beach.
Port Macquarie-Hastings Council group manager economic and cultural development Liesa Davies said attracting this event is great for the community and the greater region.
"The event will be a great boost for our local events' scene, following a tumultuous two years with so many events cancelled and postponed as a result of bushfires, floods and COVID-19," she said.
"We're looking forward to welcoming visitors to our beautiful Town Beach for the event, and encourage locals to get involved and check out the action."
The competition promises plenty of game time and jam-packed action with free beach volleyball activities Saturday and Sunday for families and kids to enjoy.
Registration for the activities is open now with the tournament's registration to close on November 17. The training sessions and social competition will take place at 5.30pm on the Friday.
The senior tournament will run between 8am and 4pm on Saturday with a performance camp to run afterwards.
The senior finals will be between 8am and midday while the youth tournament will run from 8am until 5pm on Sunday.
