One of the biggest charity events on the Mid North Coast golfing calendar will once again raise funds to support local breast cancer patients at Port Macquarie's Mid North Coast Cancer Institute.

The charity day has already received a massive kickstart thanks to event sponsor KFC with a $5000 helping hand from franchise owner Fran Scutts.

"The past 20 months have been difficult for a lot of people. It's been a long two years so, first up, we're delighted to be back," Ms Scutts said.

"This charity golf day is important on a number of levels, not least of which is that the day is an opportunity for locals to help locals.

"All proceeds go to the Mid North Coast Cancer Institute's Breast Cancer Service, a marvelous service providing world-class care and support to local residents diagnosed with breast cancer.

"I can't think of a better reason to get behind this charity day."

Port Macquarie Women's Golf Club president Maus Grant thanked Ms Scutts for her ongoing support and invited the community to once again make a statement, in pink, on 19 November.

"Our charity golf day has a serious purpose, but the event itself is next-level fun," Ms Grant said.

While there are sure to be players hitting the greens in hope of a birdie, an eagle and maybe even a hole-in-one, the underlying competition will come from the players' wardrobes.

"There are some pretty outrageous costumes on the day, intense but friendly rivalry among the players and a lot of laughter."

The Casino Royale start to the event will put golfers at the mercy of the roll of the dice - evening the odds and making handicaps irrelevant.
