In a late start to the season Junior Blaster and Master Blaster programs will begin on Friday, October 29, with games for players aged 11 and above starting the following day.
Port Macquarie Junior Cricket Club president James Kay said there were a range of playing options available to children of all ages.
"For younger boys and girls wanting to learn and develop their skills while playing cricket with their friends, we have our Junior Blasters (ages five to seven) and Master Blasters (ages seven to ten) from 4pm to 5pm on Friday afternoons," Mr Kay said.
"The Backyard Bash is also returning this year for the seven to ten year olds who are keen for a game after school with their friends. As with the Blasters, all equipment is supplied, that program is also running around 5.30pm on October 29.
"Our Saturday morning competition for under 11s and older starts the next day on October 30."
Mr Kay said the delayed start to the season hadn't dampened the enthusiasm for junior cricket in Port Macquarie.
"At this stage it's looking like we'll have at least 17 teams across the Under 11s, Under 12s, Under 14s and Under 16s. There is also a healthy number of kids aged tne and under who are keen to play, so we're looking forward to another great season," he said.
"The playing conditions across all of our junior age groups and formats are tailored to the respective abilities and interests of the players, so every player has their chance to get involved.
"Of course there is always room for more players and still plenty of time left to register.
