The draft 2022-2031 Port Macquarie-Hastings Economic Development Strategy sets out the strategic pathway to achieve inclusive and sustainable economic development outcomes through the coming decade.
The vision is to forge a vibrant and inclusive economy that utilises our enviable lifestyle, skills and assets in a way that allows all community members and environment to thrive.
Port Macquarie-Hastings Council says the draft document aims to build on recent economic growth and development, support the recovery from recent economic challenges and deliver a range of positive economic impacts.
The council noted the broad community engagement and input received during the draft strategy's development.
The community has until December 17 to give feedback to the council about the draft strategy.
People can view the draft strategy and have a say through the council's online community engagement hub.
A report will be tabled to the new council in early 2022 to detail the public submissions and present an updated draft Economic Development Strategy for adoption.
The council thanked the Economic Development Steering Group and all community members who participated in workshops to support the draft strategy's development.
The new 10-year draft strategy has been developed as the 2017-2021 strategy comes to an end.
