The Mid North Coast Local Health District continues to urge the community to get vaccinated against COVID-19, with 22 cases reported to 8pm yesterday (22 October).

Nineteen are from the Kempsey Local Government Area (LGA) and three are from Port Macquarie-Hastings LGA.
Seventeen of the cases are linked to a known case or cluster and the source of the infection of five cases is under investigation.
This latest number is on top of the 16 cases Thursday and 12 cases reported on Friday.
Three schools - Melville High, Kempsey Adventist School and Kempsey West Public School all had to close for deep cleaning this week with all members of the school community forced to isolate.
There have been 107 cases reported in the MNCLHD since the beginning of the current NSW outbreak.
The North Coast Public Health Unit is currently investigating the latest cases and contact tracing is underway, including any potential exposure venues of public concern.

The Mid North Coast's vaccination rates continue to climb with almost 95 per cent of the region's residents having received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Anyone who has yet to be vaccinated is encouraged to do so to help to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
High COVID-19 testing rates have also been experienced across the region with 1,080 tests conducted yesterday, 555 of which were at Kempsey.
NSW Health has requested anyone who has been unwell or if develops any symptoms such as a fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose, loss of smell/taste, muscle/joint pains, diarrhoea, nausea/vomiting or extreme tiredness to be tested at one of the COVID-19 testing clinics.
