Following confirmation New South Wales had reached 80 percent double vaccination on October 17, community sport could return on October 18.
Pending agreement from the clubs, the local cricket season will now start on October 30 with the first four weeks to be where the 20-over format will take centre stage.
The finals of the 20-over competitions in the May Kelly Cup (first grade), Brett Border Cup (second grade) and George Spencer Cup (third and fourth grade) will still be played on Australia Day.
HRDCA president Craig Lobegeier said the season proper (40-over competition) would start on December 4 when unvaccinated people will be able to enjoy the freedoms that the double vaccinated currently can.
"We're not going to lose a lot of time in the season at all," Mr Lobegeier said.
The grand final is set to be played on April 9 or 16.
