The Coolangatta Gold-style 10km ski paddle, 2km swim, 3km board paddle and 5km beach run will relaunch at Rainbow Beach on November 27 after being postponed from September 11.
The Wauchope-Bonny Hills Surf Life Saving Club event held its inaugural outing in October last year attracting 29 team and individual entries. Port Macquarie's Chris Delaney holds the current course record of two hours, four minutes.
Director of surf sports, Elaine Walker, who is competing in the team category this year, said the event would be beneficial for sport in the region with entries extended until the end of October.
"We were originally going to go ahead with the event in September but had to cancel due to the COVID restrictions and further double vaccination requirements. We were also waiting on the guidelines for community sport," she said.
"We already had about 25 registrations which was equivalent to the numbers for last year. Moving the event has been a blessing in disguise because it means we can keep entries open longer and people can book their entries from further away such as the central coast.
"We've extended entries until the end of October so there is still another three weeks to go."
The event will also feature a youth challenge this year for under 15 year olds. The separate event includes a 200m swim, 300m board and 1km run.
"Last year I organised the event but this year I have entered a team myself because I've put so much effort into organising it and I want to enjoy it myself," Mrs Walker said.
"We have expanded with the youth challenge this year but we are also restricted to a maximum of 200 people at the event including officials and handlers. The actual maximum number of competitors is 100 and we are hoping to get that number this year.
"Sponsorship has allowed us to purchase an inflatable finish arch, get some better signage and organised some post event physiotherapy. There will also be a medal presentation after the event made possible by the sponsorship.
"We hope to build on it and make it bigger in years to come."
The Rainbow Gold Enduro is sponsored by Bonny's Beach Cafe.
