Rebecca has a very rare disease called (AHLE) Acute Haemorrhagic Leukoencephalitis which characterised by a brief yet intense inflammation in the brain and spinal cord.
This attack critically damages the myelin, a protective covering of the nerve fibres.
The mortality rate for this disease is a frightening 70 per cent. It is so rare that the doctors are unable to predict what the future will bring for her.
The good news is that her prognosis is good, and she is slowly fighting back.
Both Rebecca and husband David with young son Dom, have always been active community members, always caring and helping friends, local sports and local businesses.
Now it's our turn to give back to them. They are going to need money to cover medical expenses and living expenses while Rebecca recovers.
A fundraiser has been organised and will be held at The Davis Farm on Rawdon Island Road, Sancrox this Sunday, September 26 starting at 10am and running until 6pm. A small gate entry fee, funds from the BBQ food and drinks sales will all be donated to assist the Boscos.
Supporters of the event include The Davis Farm, Self Seen, Tunstead Oysters, Harcourts Greater Port Macquarie, Coastal Hire Port Macquarie, and a variety of music artists who will be playing for free during the afternoon to give the day a festival atmosphere.
