The Greater Bank initiative to spread greater vibes left caffeine lovers feeling the joy at The Milkbar in Port Macquarie on Wednesday, September 15.
Co-owner of The Milkbar Alison Lynch said they were more than happy to partner with the Greater Bank to help spread positivity by handing out free coffees to customers.
"Greater Bank contacted us to be involved because we are long-time customers of theirs," she said.
"They gave us $350 to pre-purchase coffees for customers, allowing people to come in and get a coffee for free."
Customers were also given the option to pay forward their free coffee to another patron or shout them a coffee instead.
"We had quite a few people pay it forward and choose to give their free coffee to someone else," Ms Lynch said.
"It was a fantastic response from customers and it did really make them smile and brought some happiness to the morning."
Greater Bank Port Macquarie branch manager Leanne Dunlop said the initiative was organised to help improve mental health following lockdown.
"There has been an increase in depression during lockdown and the Greater Bank head office thought this initiative would help improve the mental health in communities by providing random acts of kindness," she said.
"Giving back to the community is something we are passionate about and making people smile is so important.
"It's something little that can mean a lot and brighten someone's day."
Ms Lynch said bringing some joy to their customer's morning was a welcome sight after lockdown.
"It's quite amazing seeing everyone out and supporting us again," she said.
"We had given around 40 free coffees to people before 10am. It's been a fantastic response."
