Organisers have confirmed back up dates for November, or February 2022.
The popular marathon, half-marathon, a 10km dash, 5km fun run and four-person team relay marathon is run each year finishing 500m above sea level at the top of North Brother mountain in Laurieton.
It was scheduled to celebrate its fifth anniversary in October 2020, before moving to September 19 this year.

Event organisers thanked the public for their patience in confirming on August 27 that the race day would be impossible to hold in September due to the ongoing NSW lockdown.
"We remained as optimistic as we could for as long as we could, but the time has come to make those difficult decisions," the announcement said.
"We've been liaising closely with all government agencies including the Port Macquarie-Hastings Council and National Parks and Wildlife in Sydney to discuss the best possible solution for still hosting the fifth anniversary event.
"We have secured a new date of Sunday, November 14. If lockdown restrictions are still in place in regional areas at this time we have secured a secondary back-up date for Sunday, February 13 in 2022."
Organisers said they are strongly committed to hosting the event to provide a sense of normality for the running community.
"We have planned everything at our end and were fully ready to deliver another awesome event in September, this makes it easier for us to deliver in November."
The announcement also encouraged participants and staff to get vaccinated prior to November 14 to avoid future restrictions on travel.
