It would appear that a number of councillors have their own personal agenda re proceeding with the fluoride community poll and are out of touch with the people of Port Macquarie who elected them.

A poll conducted by this paper as I write this letter shows almost 83 per cent against conducting the fluoride poll with the council elections in December.
Add to that, this "poll" is non binding!
What a complete waste of ratepayers money!
Time for a broom through this council perhaps?
Elect people who listen to the residents rather than push their own narrow-minded and misguided opinions.
Editor's note: The final results of the Port News poll asking if the fluoride community poll should go ahead at the December council elections was: 76.8% NO; 22.5% YES; 0.6% don't care. Total votes 306.
