NSW recorded 415 new COVID-19 cases and four deaths in the 24 hours to 8pm on Saturday, August 14. There are 62 people with COVID-19 in intensive care.
NSW residents are reminded you must stay at home unless you have a reasonable excuse to leave.
You cannot have visitors to your home outside your household, including family and friends,
You can have one visitor at one time to fulfil carers' responsibilities or provide care or assistance, or for compassionate reasons, including where two people are in a relationship but do not live together.
On the Mid North Coast there are no positive cases; and the region is not classified as an "LGA of concern".
From midnight on Monday, August 16 the following restrictions apply:
- You must only exercise and shop within your local government area (LGA). From August 16 across NSW, people must only travel 5km from their home to shop and exercise if they have to go outside their LGA. Carry proof of you address with you if you are exercising outdoors or have left your home for recreation
- In LGAs of concern, where prescribed work is being carried out, there can only be five workers outside
- In LGAs of concern, it will no longer be a reasonable excuse to leave your home to engage in outdoor recreation. You will only be allowed to exercise or supervise a child under 12 who is exercising or engaging in play
- There are new fines for providing false information to authorised contact tracers
There are new restrictions on leaving your place of residence and inspecting property or moving between residence. This will only be permitted for:
- Regional NSW: People moving to a new place or between residence or inspecting property
- Greater Sydney: to move between a place of residence outside Greater Sydney but only if the move is for work and only the one person working moves, or the move is for urgent repairs or maintenance or animal welfare but only one person moves
- Greater Sydney: inspecting real estate outside of Great Sydney but only if there is a genuine intention to move and reside there or;
- Supervising or facilitating a move.

The rules relating to testing of workers, declared LGA areas of concern and construction sites do not apply outside Greater Sydney.
If you live in Greater Sydney you should not be travelling outside this area for COVID-19 vaccination. You must reduce all movement.
In areas that were not locked down before 5pm Saturday, August 14, weddings and funerals can take place until the beginning of August 16. After that weddings are not permitted and funerals are subject to the 10 mourner limit.
For areas not in lockdown before 5pm Saturday, August 14, people can continue to stay in caravan parks and camping on a booking made before this date.
When your booking expires, you may leave your accommodation to return to your place of residence or other accommodation.
While you are staying in your temporary or holiday accommodation, you must continue to comply with the stay at home rules.
- Shopping for food or other essential goods and services.
- Medical care or compassionate needs (people can leave home to have a COVID-19 vaccination unless you have been identified as a close contact).
- Exercise outdoors in groups of two or fewer (unless members of the same household).
- To get a COVID vaccination
- Every employer across NSW must require their employees to work from home unless it is not reasonably practicable.
Schooling will be done from home in most cases.
Masks must be worn indoors (not including the home) and in outdoor settings where you cannot socially distance from others. Anyone who leaves their home must carry a mask with them at all times.
