The Breakers and Magpies will battle for the Sheldon Morgan Cup in memory of long-serving club stalwarts Paul Sheldon and Peter Morgan.
Magpies president Michael Rolff said it was a special day for both clubs where the winner of two of the three fixtures - women's, reserves and seniors - take home the cup.
"Both Paul and Peter passed away from heart attacks pretty close together in 2011 after playing a game," Rolff said.
"Paul was about involving the whole Magpies club. He was inclusive and worked in reserve grade and first grade and made sure everyone qualified for finals in both grades where possible.
"He was that sort of guy and being the 10-year anniversary of his passing we're pushing to get a lot of the old guys back to play this weekend."
Port Macquarie's seniors and women's teams are well in the mix for finals while their reserve grade will look to finish the season on a high.
The Magpies require two wins from their remaining two home matches against Coffs Harbour and then Northern Beaches to qualify for the finals.
"If we win both our games we will make the finals in first grade, but if we drop a game we will then rely on other people and we don't want to do that," Rolff said.
"The girls are fourth at the moment so if they win both their remaining games they will play finals too."
Rolff admitted they were well placed to progress into September.
"That's the joy of getting all the travel out of the way early; we've got home matches to come so there are no excuses."
The women's match starts at 11.50am with reserve grade at 1.20pm and seniors at 2.50pm.
