But Mid North Coast Cricket Council president Paul Dilley said he hasn't received any confirmation or otherwise from any of last season's clubs about what will happen this summer.

"At the moment there's a lot of hearsay - the same sort of hearsay there was last year that the competition will not happen, but it got together," he said.

"We want to know within the fortnight where the clubs stand in relation to committing again."

While there are question marks surrounding the format and make-up of the competition, there have been some success stories already.

"Connor Cook and his brother Bryce and the two Korn boys from up at the Macleay, so there's been some success stories out of the Premier League," Mr Dilley said.

"It's just the last three years of the first past the post has been congratulated as the winner. That's frustrating for some that we haven't had a finals series."

Mr Dilley said the Mid North Coast Cricket Council would also be in a position to utilise new technology called FrogBox at a selected number of grounds.

"You fix the camera outside the ground and it zooms right in," he said.

The technology was used at North Sydney Oval and the Sydney Cricket Ground last summer during men's and women's Regional Big Bash fixtures.

"It links in with the live scoring that's done on MyCricket so mums, dads or your mates can sit around a computer and watch a match," Mr Dilley said.

"Most sides have got licensed premises as sponsors as well so they can play it in their sporting areas."

Mr Dilley was hopeful councils around the Mid North Coast would help to chip in to fund the technology.

"That's so when we have any carnivals like the Regional Big Bash we'll be able to have every game covered," he said.

"It provides that little bit extra to the competition."
