HVNA publicity officer Linda Dewbery said the hair styles had been getting more and more outrageous over the years since the first Crazy Hair and Sock day more than a decade ago.
"It's an initiative for the Kids Cancer Project that Netball NSW supports," Ms Dewbery said.
"All the associations participate and we get our girls to dress up with crazy hair and crazy socks and donate a gold coin that we all pool together as a donation from the association which we hand over," Ms Dewbery said.
"Each year there are more and more outrageous hair dos. They're amazing. These parents have too much time on their hands."
The competition is approaching the finals series with the first semi-final scheduled for August 28 with the grand final on September 11.
