Addressing the media on Monday, Central West Police District Superintendent Steven Kentwell said the visit was deemed as a "very, very low risk."

"They did stop at an establishment here in Orange. That establishment is aware of it and have done the right thing and shut down the drive through and done the cleaning and have advised all the workers that were working at that time and they've been tested," he said. "Everything that can be done has been done at this time and at this stage.

"(They are) not considered a close contact or anything like that but still follow the protocols for their own safety."

He would not not confirm the exact location, but the ops manager of the McDonald's on Bathurst Road, Awaiz Samuel, confirmed the removalists visited their venue.

"As soon as we found out from police that they went to the drive-thru, we immediately hard sanitised the whole drive-through area," he said. "We take very strong pride with our practices and hygiene system. My store manager did it himself. Not only that, the guys in the drive-thru, they did a COVID test immediately which was negative."

The removalists were spoken to by police just after 2.30pm on Friday, July 16 in Speedy Street, Molong.

The three men were issued Court Attendance Notices for not comply with noticed direction re section 7/8/9 - COVID-19 and are next before Orange Local Court on August 30.

When asked if setting up check points along major roads was a possibility, Mr Kentwell said: "We are certainly looking at the Bells Line Road and Great Western Highway.

"We are doing stationary RBT and also looking at vehicles that are registered to Sydney through our own checks and we're checking whether there are exemptions.

'We have an extensive response in the whole western region, particularly Chifley, Orange and New England, just to try and capture anyone leaving the greater metro area and have them return there under the current health orders in place."

In the last 24 hours officers have issued 31 Penalty Infringement Notices throughout Western Region.

In terms of how police are dealing with COVID compliance in Orange, Mr Kentwell added: "As part of our taskings we do a number of business inspections across the whole district and any breaches we detect at that time are giving a warning to comply with the health orders."
