Officers from the Mid North Coast Police District are appealing for public assistance following an alleged attempted robbery and malicious wounding in Wauchope at the weekend.

At About 12.30am on Saturday, July 10, four people were inside a Honda Accord at the intersection of Tallwood Avenue and Cameron Street, Wauchope, when a number of unknown people approached the vehicle.
Police have been told the group of people engaged in a verbal altercation with a 21-year-old man who was inside the car.
The group then allegedly assaulted the man and he was stabbed three times to his chest and torso.
Two other occupants of the vehicle - two men aged 20 and 21 - were also allegedly assaulted during the incident.
Police said the group demanded wallets and phones from the occupants before they fled the scene on foot through a nearby park.
Officers from the Mid North Coast Police District attended a short time later and established a crime scene.
One of the 21-year-old men was taken to Port Macquarie Base Hospital for treatment to a broken leg and stab wounds to his chest and torso.
The other two men and a 21-year-old woman who were inside the car were uninjured.
Following extensive inquiries, two teenage boys - aged 16 and 17 - were arrested at Port Macquarie Police Station at about 11.40am on the same day.
The younger boy was charged with two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company of other(s), and one count each of assault with intent to rob in company, reckless wounding and destroy or damage property, while the older boy was charged with three counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and one count each of assault with intent to rob in company and malicious damage.
They were both granted conditional bail to appear at the children's court on Monday, August 2.
As investigations continue into the alleged incident, detectives are appealing for anyone who may have CCTV footage or may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the surrounding area between midnight and 1am on Saturday, July 10, to contact Port Macquarie Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
