A MOUNTAIN bike rider was airlifted to Newcastle with multiple injuries after a bike accident in bushland at Jolly Nose, south of Port Macquarie on June 19.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called at about 10am Saturday by New South Wales Ambulance to Jolly Nose after a 37-year-old man had sustained several injuries in a mountain bike accident.
The man was treated on scene by paramedics before being transported by road ambulance to rendezvous with the helicopter which landed at Lake Cathie sports fields.
The Helicopter Critical Care Medical Team took over treatment prior to the man being airlifted to John Hunter Hospital.
He is in a stable condition.
