Business NSW regional manager Kellon Beard put the wheels in motion to make the donation a reality.
Business NSW gave the tick of approval for $5000 to purchase equipment for BlazeAid. The equipment was sourced locally.
"We wanted to do our bit for the local community to help people after the flood and we saw BlazeAid as a good opportunity to do that," Mr Beard said.
"It will give them the equipment they need to keep doing the good work they are doing."
Two chainsaws and a brushcutter were handed over on Thursday [June 17] and more equipment will follow.
BlazeAid Wauchope Camp coordinator Chris Male said the equipment would be used locally and be available for use by future BlazeAid camps.
"I think all organisations are getting less support this year than they have had in past years," she said.
"For this [donation] to come along is absolute gold."
Port Macquarie-Hastings Council's group manager economic and cultural development Liesa Davies alerted Mr Beard to BlazeAid's need for assistance.
Ms Davies said there was a sustained flood impact on primary producers.
"We are seeing reports of hundreds of kilometres of fencing impacted as a result of the floods," she said.
"For many primary producers, that came on top of the impact from the bushfires.
"It's very difficult for them to be resilient and rebuild their businesses in the face of multiple disasters."
BlazeAid is helping with clearing and fencing work on properties after the floods as the recovery effort continues.
Mrs Male said more and more people were coming forward for help.
"There is a reluctance to come forward on some people's behalf because of the fact they had help after the fires," she said.
"I would like them to understand they are eligible and we will do our best to support them."
The BlazeAid Wauchope Camp is also seeking more volunteers.
