Telegraph Point Public School added 250 books to its library thanks to a donation from the Rotary Club of Port Macquarie.
The club gave school representatives first pick of its books as a donation before the 2021 Giant Book Sale opened to the public.
The donation helped replenish the school's library after the floods.
Rotary Club of Port Macquarie book sale coordinator Bob Cleland said Rotary was committed to helping people in need.
"We couldn't see a better purpose and we wanted to help them get back on their feet after the flood," he said about the donation.
"We believe in reading and we believe in education."
Telegraph Point Public School P&C member Liz Bollard said it was quite overwhelming to be able to access such great quality books.
"The people of Port Macquarie have been really generous in donating [books] to Rotary and that is translated through to our school," she said.
Students are back at Telegraph Point Public School after the entire school relocated to Hastings Secondary College's Westport Campus due to the floods.
Telegraph Point Public School principal Duncan Adams said the 250 quality donated texts would go a long way in educating the students.
He said reading was the key to success.
Mr Adams thanked the Rotary Club of Port Macquarie for its generous donation of books.
"It's just lovely to see community organisations are constantly giving back to our Telegraph Point school community," he said.
Other donations to the school library have come from Tacking Point Public School P&C, Wauchope Rotary Club in conjunction with Northbridge Rotary Club, Vicki's Swim Centre, the Uniting Church, Port Macquarie Library and community members.
Public schools across the Hastings and Macleay have donated readers and home readers.
