Aussie Battlers - Pay it Forward was founded by Karen Sparkes 10 years ago, with the group coming together in the wake of local natural disasters to offer assistance to those in need.
The group have held two flood victim donation events so far, with a third planned for Saturday, June 12.
"It's been amazing. The first two events we held were really great and we had a lot of people turn up who had been impacted by the floods," Aussie Battlers treasurer Janette Atkinson said.
"We were blown away. Listening to everyone's story and being able to help means a lot."
Residents who were impacted by the flood are able to browse the donated items and take what they need. There are also forms that can be filled out to help Aussie Battlers source any additional items people need.
"If we have any excess items at the end of the day we allow members of the public to purchase them," Ms Atkinson said.
"We raised over $2000 at the first two events which will go towards food vouches and to purchase any of the other additional items people need."
The majority of donated items Aussie Battlers has collected have been from the community.
"We do purchase some things ourselves, but most of the items have been donated," Ms Atkinson said.
"The community has really gotten behind us and have helped with donating any items they can spare.
"It's been really worthwhile because these people are in need and sometimes they won't ask for any help and they end up going without."
Ms Atkinson said there are still residents at Brigadoon Holiday Park who haven't been able to return to their homes or residents who are going without.
"We had one gentleman who said he didn't need anything but we found out that he had been boiling his water in a pot because he didn't have a kettle. So there are people who do still need help and sometimes it's just the smaller things," she said.
"We've also had some support from businesses in town, Pane In The Glass Cleaning have donated 50 per cent of their profit from May to Aussie Battlers.
"If there are any businesses who want to donate items for a fundraising raffle, please get in touch."
Anyone in the community wanting to donate items or to find out more information about the donations for flood victims event can do so by contacting Aussie Battlers - Pay it Forward through their Facebook page.
