It is estimated the March flood caused between $80,000 and $100,000 in damages and losses at the club's Hibbard Drive hub.

The club will first and foremost address safety issues caused by the floodwater.

Port Macquarie Pony Club president Maxine Abi-Saab said while Saturday's car boot sale wasn't as profitable as the club would have liked with about $340 raised, it provided a kickstart and led to community support.

"I would like to thank the community that turned up to support the event," Mrs Abi-Saab said.

She said Scutts family restaurants and Alistair Flower had since come on board with some very generous support so the weekend was very successful.

The club has applied for grants and members are talking about holding a dressage competition.

Meanwhile, a training day on Sunday [June 6] at the Port Macquarie Pony Club's field in Hibbard Drive also attracted riders from Telegraph Point Pony Club and Hastings District Pony Club.

There were 18 riders in three different learning groups with an instructor.
