Held on Saturday night (June 5) at Port Macquarie's Glasshouse theatre, the dancers performed for a packed house and raised money for cancer research and treatment.

The stars shone on the night after several months of training from their many talented dance teachers who skillfully raised their non-dancers to a professional level.

They were Brendan McDonald, technical services librarian at Port Macquarie-Hastings Library; Cassie Clark of Seasalt Café & Restaurant; Cori Aspinall of Port Macquarie Orthodontics; Dr Kristy Kostalas of Port Medical Aesthetics Clinic and Bangalow & Co; Mark Matheson of Modern Edge Physio; Meaghan Cook of Hastings Secondary College; Natasha Swain, a hairdresser/TAFE Teacher; Tim Farnsworth from Westpac and Michael Ferguson of Wauchope Veterinary Clinic.

All dancers impressed the judging panel made up of the very familiar face of Helen Richey of Dancing With The Stars fame; supported by two other well-known faces, Alistair Flower, managing director of Flower Hotels and 2019 Stars of Hastings Judge's Choice winner, Belinda Johnson.

Lauren Fraser, Cancer Council's community relations coordinator was in awe of the support from the local community who once again, after drought, fires and floods, have managed to dig deep.

"Thanks must go to the extremely generous Hastings community for supporting the stars' fundraising efforts, our many sponsors and the businesses who contributed to our live auction," Ms Fraser said.

Dr Kristy Kostalas took out the Highest Fundraiser Award, raising an exceptional $30,015.

"It wasn't Dr Kristy's only achievement for the night, taking out the People's Choice Award for her Greatest Showman routine with partner Makenzie Dobson from Extravadance Studios," Ms Fraser said.

The winners of Judge's Choice Award were separated by only half a point.

The runner up was Michael Ferguson from Wauchope Vets, with his partner Sarah Deitrich Lovelock from Mandy Davidson Dance Fitness and Wellness.

The winners were Mark Matheson, from Modern Edge Physiotherapy and Charles Sturt University, with Peter Gill and Keian Langdon from Port Macquarie Performing Arts.

The Magic Mark routine was voted the best performance of the night.

"Focusing on fun and fundraising, this event helps Cancer Council reach out to people across the community to support those living with cancer as well as providing programs to prevent, save lives from and improve the quality of life of people with cancer," Ms Fraser said.
