They sailed past that figure last Saturday as they dug deep to help the Make A Difference foundation, raising more than $10,000 in the process.
Centre Kye Alpen's jersey was the most sought-after piece of memorabilia with club president David Barnes saying it went for more than $1000.
"The number 13 jersey went for $1150," he said.
"Interestingly, Kye's dad was bidding on it and was going head to head with his girlfriend where they were both bidding against each other."
Each of the 23 different jerseys were auctioned off with each winner showing an interest in the size of the jersey rather than the number or the player who had worn it.
It will be a collector's item.
"We had a lot of people wanting to get that one-off jersey," Barnes said.
Make A Difference are sponsors of the local Orange Sky laundry van and other charitable services.
They support disadvantaged people living in the community and most recently stepped-in to help with flood relief efforts across the Hastings district.
The fundraising from Saturday aims to complete the fit-out of a food and coffee van to expand the Make A Difference service in the community.
"Our members who turn up are very supportive of things we do and that's why the money gets up there," Barnes said.
