The successful groups ranged from Port Macquarie Neighbourhood Centre to Kendall Men's Shed, Lake Cathie-Bonny Hills Lions Club, Mid North Coast Writers' Centre, Port Macquarie Steiner School and Headspace Port Macquarie.
They are just a snapshot of the successful organisations. The applicants put forward projects for funding.
Port Macquarie-Hastings Council granted $55,192 in the community builders category, $3,836 in micro grants, $3,010 in the youth grant category, $12,826 towards community celebration projects and $6000 went to heritage grants.
The community council action team grants totalled $33,164 and the council awarded $83,336 in recovery and resilience grants.
The council allocated the financial assistance from the Community Grant Program 2020-2021 round two at its May meeting which coincided with National Volunteer Week.
Mayor Peta Pinson said the week celebrated the contribution of Australia's almost six million volunteers and she thought that was number probably a little bit underestimated.
Each year, these volunteers dedicated more than six million hours to help others, she said, and if you were to put a dollar value to that, it was a bucketload.
"Volunteers, they really make our communities stronger, especially in times of need and haven't we seen that in times of crisis or isolation," Cr Pinson said.
The council congratulated all successful applicants and acknowledged their volunteer contribution.
The council provides up to $200,000 annually in community grants.
The program's aims include providing residents with opportunities to participate in a broad range of arts, culture or local history activities, participate in special community events as well as strengthening community skills and capacity.
This round also included community council action team grants and recovery and resilience grants.
