In mid-July the Victorian product, now in Port Macquarie, will head to the Crossfit Games in Wisconsin as the 14th-best athlete in her division.
It sees her as one of the best in the world with the top 20 athletes qualifying for the games.
It's a remarkable rise for someone who only took up crossfit six years ago.
"I always thought I'd be going to watch (at the Crossfit Games); I never thought I'd be going to get out there to join these guys that are incredible athletes," she said.
"It's very humbling to think that I'm mixing it with them, so that's a good feeling."
The mother of three has been in Port Macquarie for the past two years.
With several hundred thousand athletes participating in crossfit around the world, Lea is simply satisfied to have achieved her international goal.
Being there is good enough. There isn't a need to set any more goals for when she's there.
"I'm chuffed that I've made it because there are not many people that get there; I'm surprised I've actually qualified," she said.
"I love how (with crossfit) you do different stuff all the time, there's so much you have to learn and I like that about it because it definitely challenges you."
She admitted crossfit made her feel alive.
"I just like the challenge and it's hard, don't get me wrong, but I enjoy it because it's different from other styles of training I've done in the past," she said.
"I never thought I'd be good at it. I didn't think I'd be on the world stage."
However, being on the world stage is not a foreign concept after Lea had previously competed internationally through BMX riding.
"I did that at world level, loved it, but only did that by accident after I fell off a horse and my brothers were doing it," she said.
"Mum and dad dragged me along and I had to do it, but then I got really good at it and my brothers hated me for that."
This weekend's Torian Pro in Queensland will be a chance for Lea to finetune her skills ahead of the Crossfit Games, but a lot of fellow crossfitters could have their international dreams dashed.
The event at the Pat Rafter Arena doubles as a selection trial for some other divisions, but not the masters.
"This weekend will be fun play," Lea said.
