Taylor would be arguably their most important identity and a short-priced favourite to win clubman of the year - even after only three matches in 2021.
He coaches their women's team, plays first grade and over the last fortnight has added team bus driver to a growing list of contributions.
The club started the AFL North Coast season with a horrendous travel schedule that included back-to-back trips to Casino and Lismore.
But rather than shouting from the rooftops about what he did, he simply shrugged his shoulders and said someone had to do it.
"It's not ideal driving the bus four and a half hours to Casino and Lismore, but it's what someone's got to do to get the team up there and it saves everyone paying fuel to get up there themselves," Taylor said.
"Not everyone wants to travel four and a half hours just to play a game of footy, so you just do what you can to get everyone up there and get wins on the board.
"People have done it for me in the past so I wanted to give what I could in return."
After navigating their way through the longest road trips in the competition with two wins from three starts, the Pies are back in home surrounds on Saturday at Wayne Richards Park.
Taylor knows home ground advantage alone won't be enough to get them another victory against defending premiers Grafton.
"It's a pretty big game early in the year because Grafton won the premiership last year so it's a big game to see where we're at," he said.
"I think everyone's looking forward to the first home game of the year, hoping for a big crowd down there and we can put on a show."
The day starts with the women's match at 11.50am, reserve grade at 1.20pm and first grade at 2.50pm.
