Football Mid North Coast is entering under 11 and 12s teams at the annual McDonalds Kanga Cup in Canberra from July 4 to 9.
The players will be selected from Laurieton, Port Macquarie, South West Rocks, Kempsey, Taree and Foster to take part in the Kanga Cup, the largest international youth football tournament in the southern hemisphere.
The week-long event proudly champions the mission of uniting the youth of the world through football. The Kanga Cup is run by Capital Football, the governing body for football in Canberra.
The tournament also provides the 27 players across the two squads with the experience of playing different opposition from all over the country with a minimum of seven games played over five days.
Previous participating teams have hailed from Australia, United States, England, Denmark, Italy, Russia, Georgia, South Africa and South Korea.
There are also teams from Chinese Taipei, Malaysia, Philippines, India, Indonesia, East Timor, Fiji, New Zealand and others although COVID will impact on international attendance this year.
As Australia's premier football festival, the cup holds a special place within the football family and is an annual calendar highlight for youth footballers of Australia and the world.
Football Mid North Coast have a history of strong performances at Kanga Cup and this year should be no different.
