The Hastings Farm Gate Tour, which is back in 2021, offers a self-drive program covering 12 properties with tours at set times.
Urban sustainable gardens in Port Macquarie to rural farms in the Lorne Valley and the Upper Hastings will open to the public from June 12 to 14.
Educational workshops are incorporated into the 2021 event.
Hastings Farm Gate Tour Working Group member Deborah Doyle said people could pick and chose which properties they wanted to visit.
"We have quite a lot of new venues that are passionate about holistic farming or regenerative agriculture," she said.
The event offers visitors an opportunity to visit farms growing food sustainably, many of which are not usually open to the public.
The host farmers will take visitors on a tour of their properties, highlighting production methods, conservation initiatives and unique aspects of their property.
The tours provide opportunities to meet food producers and farm animals, learn about food production, talk regenerative agriculture, taste local produce and be a part of the local food movement.
Host farm opening/tour times, information and a map overview are provided in a booklet/ ticket available for purchase online.
The non-refundable ticket price is $40 for a carload of people. Details can be found at the Port Macquarie Hastings Sustainability Network website.
The Hastings Farm Gate Tour has found a home with the Port Macquarie Hastings Sustainability Network.
The 2021 tour has been auspiced by the Port Macquarie Community Garden and funded by the Energy Forever Sustainability Grants Program with additional funding from Port Macquarie-Hastings Council.
