The result was giving league tag a go in 2014 and on Saturday the 25-year-old will run out in her 100th game for the club when they host Wingham.
"Back in 2014 I joined at the start of that season because I wanted to try something new," she said.
"I liked it from the first time I played. It was good. I've lived in Wauchope my whole life so that's why I played with the Blues."
Kayla admitted she was unsure if the 200-game milestone was an achievable goal although she didn't think she would play 100 games either.
"I've enjoyed it. It's a big commitment, but it's fun. I don't know if I'll get to 200 games ... that's another seven years," she said.
The Group 3 season will return to the field this weekend after a flood-enforced delay followed the cancellation of the 2020 season due to COVID-19 concerns.
"It was good to have a break last year but it's good to be back," Kayla said.
The addition of a few new faces along with some older, experienced heads has meant Wauchope are quietly confident about a successful season.
"I think we'll go pretty good this year because we have a really solid team with a few Port girls and a few of the older girls are back," she said.
"Aaron is a pretty hard coach, but he's fair and we know what he wants from us."
