Information about native bees and a bee hotel workshop will be part of the Autumn Fair fundraiser for the community garden on Saturday (May 1).
The Australian Native Bee Association Mid North Coast Branch will present information all day about the diversity of wild native bees in the environment.
Australian Native Bee Association Mid North Coast branch chair Diane Norris said they would explain about the important role native bees played in pollinating plants and how to attract wild native bees to your garden.
"Stunning photographs show many of our local species and we'll also cover the topics of bee nesting biology, bee foraging behaviour, the diversity of wild bees and their importance in our environment," she said.
"Beekeeping with native stingless bees is feasible in the warmer areas of NSW and we'll include expert information about modern stingless beekeeping in Australia."
A bee hotel workshop will feature design ideas and tips about how to make a simple bee hotel for local native bees.
The Autumn Fair will also include a fermenting workshop and Food Smart Program activities.
There will be garden tours, children's craft activities, market stalls, musical entertainment and wood-fired pizza.
The fundraiser is a family-friendly event for locals and visitors to come along, explore the space and learn more about how the community garden works.
The community garden is a place where people can come together to grow and learn about food and connect with like-minded people to share knowledge and skills.
The Lost Plot's Autumn Fair, with free entry, runs between 10am and 3pm on Saturday, at the Central Road community garden.
