Police are appealing for information from the public after a man was stabbed in the back during an altercation in Port Macquarie on Sunday night.

About 6.20pm on April 25, a 21-year-old man was walking along Anderson Street, Port Macquarie with another man, when a vehicle pulled alongside them.
A passenger got out of the vehicle and approached the man; a fight ensued and the man was stabbed in the back. The unknown man fled the scene.
The injured man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Port Macquarie Hospital where he was treated for serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.
Officers attached to Mid North Coast Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.
