I am very much aware of the shocking problems at the Wrights Road and Lake Road roundabouts, having visited my wife in the Base Hospital for a period of almost 6 months in 2019, yes 2019 and nothing has changed to date, except an increase in traffic.
Will it take a fatality to move things along?
Vehicles can sit at the entrance to John Oxley from Wrights Road for considerable periods of time, especially between 3pm and 6pm Monday to Friday, making everyone totally frustrated. Both roundabouts, need to be removed and replaced by traffic lights and then they must be in sync, allowing for the travel time between both signals, not set ad hoc.
This has always been a state government responsibility and I have to say, I assume the majority of the community are extremely disappointed at the apparent lack of action, for such a major issue in our area.
I look forward to some sound upgrade proposals and that the works are carried out with a sense of urgency that the situation warrants.
