So it was fitting for Senior Citizens Club members to stage an early birthday celebration for Mr Dixon, complete with a trophy and cake, on Tuesday (April 13).
The trophy's inscription congratulates Mr Dixon on his 100th birthday from the committee and his friends at the Senior Citizens Club.
Mr Dixon thanked the club members for the birthday celebration.
The soon-to-be centenarian has no secret to a long life.
"I don't find it any different to any other day," Mr Dixon said about his approaching 100th birthday.
"My health is going along well and it just seems like any other day."
Mr Dixon has called Lake Cathie home for 37 years after moving from Sydney.
He still lives in his own home, mows the lawn and drives a car.
Mr Dixon started dancing with his wife, Phyllis, and had a break for a while after her passing, before returning to the dance floor.
He joins fellow Senior Citizens Club members for new vogue dancing at the Port Macquarie centre twice a week.
"I enjoy the music and the company," Mr Dixon said.
Mr Dixon turns 100 on Saturday (April 17) and will celebrate the milestone with family.
