This beautiful creature is designed and painted by artist Pauline Roods, with additions by fibreglass specialist John Belfield and local broom-maker Thompson Brushes, and is being released just in time for this month's Port Macquarie-Hastings' bicentenary celebrations.
Hello Koalas director Margret Meagher said she believes no-one will be able to resist the magic of Winnie the Unicorn Koala.
"I definitely believe in unicorns," Margret laughed.
"Winnie has the power to put a smile on so many faces, and we could all use that right now."
Winnie's rainbow colours glisten through her sparkling white fur, and she is adorned with a gold and purple horn as well as a stunning white main.
Gold leaf is also used on her tummy, nose and nails, making this Hello Koalas sculpture a real stand-out.
Winnie was to be the main attraction of the Hello Koalas Bicentenary Treasure Hunt, which due to the effects of flooding, has been rescheduled to the 5th Annual Hello Koalas Festival on 25-26 September 2021.
Instead, Winnie the Unicorn will be at the Hello Koalas Gift Shop 10am-4pm every day until April 16 to add her magic to the bicentenary celebrations, making history as the 79th sculpture to join the Hello Koalas Sculpture Trail.
The Hello Koalas Gift Shop is at 16/10 Bellbowrie St, Port Macquarie. Enquiries phone 0416 641 482.
