For this little community west of Port Macquarie, the damage of the March floods will remain for months, even years.
Right now, the emotional toll is testing the resilience of this tight-knit community who, regardless of how hard it gets, have promised to stand by one another.
Manager of the Telegraph Point Sports and Recreation Club Pam McArdle was in tears as work commenced to gut the popular watering hole which is at the heart of the local community.
"We've lost everything. What can you do," Pam said.
She shed tears not only for the future of the club, but every family who has lost a home and everything they owned. Some people have walked away with just the clothes they were wearing.
The battle for us has only just started.
- Pam McArdle
Pam and club licensee Peter love their community so much they donated $1000 to the community hall just to "make sure the kids were alright". She even opened the pub doors to residents who were left homeless - a safe space, despite the waist-deep water, until rescue boats arrived.
"When we leave here (the club) we go home. We have no power. You just can't get away from it," Pam said.
"The battle for us has only just started. If I could say anything to anyone out there - please help us."

You only need to spend a few minutes in the Telegraph Point Liberty Service Station to realise just how much the community cares for Dinesh Thakrani.
Dinesh had to smash a hole through the wall of the servo with a fire extinguisher to escape rising floodwaters which he said came is quickly and from all directions.
"In the time I moved my car to higher ground and came back and shut the doors it had come right in," Dinesh said.
Every customer who visited on Thursday made sure they told Dinesh how grateful they were for opening the doors back up. Fuel, power and what was left of the produce and hay stored out the back was for sale.
Neighbours Ken and Leanne Ritchie provided Dinesh with a safe place to sleep and dry clothes until he could return home to Port Macquarie.
"On Saturday, 20 people came here to help clean up. It wasn't a one person job - they all came," Dinesh said.
He was also paid a visit by Member for Oxley Melinda Pavey and deputy premier John Barilaro who praised the community for their strength and resilience in the face of extreme hardship.

And over the river at the community hall, the village heart beats strong.
Donations, clothes, groceries are piled on tables, while dozens of people gather inside awaiting a hearty home-cooked meal from the team on the tongs led by chef Rachael Hilton in the hall's kitchen.
"We've got the best chef in Tele Point cooking for us here," one resident said.
"We'll be alright."
Service providers have set up tables to deliver advice to flood-impacted residents including how to access financial assistance.
Resident Sue Pike said the calls for help continue to grow and people return to their homes to assess the damage.

Due to the magnitude of the destruction the park and all amenities will be closed indefinitely until Jason and Sinead can figure out how long a rebuild will take.
"We know so many of you have lost so much and we hope you and your families have remained healthy and safe as we all work to rebuild what has been so cruelly taken from us," the team posted.
"We know we a part of a fantastic community who have always pulled together in tough times, this is just another one of those times."
GoFundMe has set up an East Coast Floods page with all the fundraisers for locals affected by the floods.
