The centenarian said gratitude is the key - being thankful for his health and always remaining positive - to a life lived well.
Mr Lincoln celebrated his 100th birthday with family and friends at Port City Bowling Club on February 25.
Guests from across the region, the Hunter Valley, Queensland, Sydney and Melbourne attended the celebration and shared their stories and memories of a humble and well-respected man.
Mr Lincoln was born on February 25, 1921 in Newtown, Sydney.
He grew up in a close but extensive family environment which included his grandparents and many uncles and aunts.
On March 19, 1932, Mr Lincoln was picnicking at Sydney Harbour on the day the ribbon was cut for the bridge's official opening.
He left school at 15, had various jobs and in 1942 enlisted in the RAAF.
Mr Lincoln served in the Signal Corp in Broome where his task was to intercept Japanese communications related to the possible invasion of Australia.
After returning from the war, Mr Lincoln joined the transport industry and eventually took up a posting with Thomas Nationwide Transport (TNT) where he became general manager of rail and shipping.
He travelled widely and finally returned to the Gippsland area in Victoria on a large grazing property where he successfully trained racehorses.
In 2000, George and wife Ruth settled in Port Macquarie where they remain today.
They lived together at their home enjoying their own company but have never stopped learning.
Mr Lincoln uses his iPad to take photographs and connect with family, researching and commenting on Facebook.
The couple have two children together, Carole and the late Raymond, and two step daughters Catherine and Samantha.
They have four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
