Extra funding for surf clubs
Surf lifesaving volunteers are a synonymous part of our life here on the Cowper coastline.
An injection of $9.7 million in federal funding for surf clubs across the Cowper electorate will enable them to buy new or replacement patrol equipment including rescue boards, life jackets, rescue manikins, inflatable rescue boats, first aid and medical supplies
This funding is on top of the $21 million over three years already earmarked for surf clubs across Australia.
I am currently retraining for my bronze medallion at one of our local clubs. It's tough, but once I pass I look forward to joining fellow club members on the beach.
Remember to only swim at patrolled beaches, with a group of people and only swim to your ability.
