She managed to avoid Victoria's original COVID-19 lockdown in March 2020 because she was on her way out of the state straight after the W-League grand final.
So she wasn't too upset when premier Daniel Andrews enforced a snap five-day lockdown on February 12.
The 28-year-old has called the southern capital home for three of the past five seasons.
While most of Melbourne were voicing their frustration at again having to be cooped up inside the four walls of their own home, Dobson was enjoying the free time available after taking up a new hobby.
"I've made myself a little greenhouse down in the shower which was helpful because Melbourne weather has been horrific this season," she told the Port News.

Not only did the winger have dahlias and roses to tend to, she alternated between reading books and training two hours a day.
The ever-changing travel restrictions have already caused disruptions to the W-League season schedule with Dobson admitting players had to be adaptable.
"You just have to take every week as it comes and be understanding to the fact the team you're prepping for is highly likely going to change," she said.
"You've got to run with it and if you don't, it's to your own detriment."
The former Wauchope junior felt the Australian Open tennis should not have gone ahead last week.
"I know it brings a lot of positives for our economy and tourism and the sport in its entirety, but we needed to look after the health and wellbeing of our country and its people," she said.
"We're very fortunate we cracked down on things as quickly as what we did because it could have gotten out of control, but it's done now and things will settle.
"We'll resume to the new normal that we have; I think we're coming out of the storm."
