Hollis will run onto Netstrata Jubilee Stadium in Sydney with the number eight jumper on his back on February 18 when the Eels clash with the Dragons in a National Rugby League trial.
It will be the blue-and-gold's first trial match of 2021 and shows the former Wauchope resident is in the mix for further honours throughout the campaign.
Father Rod said the family was overwhelmed with pride in what their boy had achieved so far.
"He left home at just 15 which was difficult for our family," Mr Hollis said.
"David has worked hard training and playing for Parramatta while working full time and completing his Diesel Mechanic apprenticeship.
"This often meant going to footy training then heading straight to work so it took a lot of commitment and David has achieved a lot but always stayed humble."
The family felt thrilled to be a part of their son's rugby league journey so far and were excited to see what was around the next corner.
"We're proud to see his dedication and hard work paying off."
