If Mick Aldridge was a school teacher he would be giving out pass marks to those who were in the Hastings over the summer holidays.

The Mid North Coast Local Area Command duty officer said that aside from Australia Day - when 11 traffic tickets were handed out - police were satisfied with the overall behaviour of people.
"The police have obviously seen a large influx of people to the community around the Hastings but generally there were no major instances of anti-social behaviour or public health order issues," Inspector Aldridge said.
"It's been busy in regards to our normal policing, but nothing on top of that.
"As far as the people who have come here, we've had great behaviour and no issues in relation to police being involved.
"There's no major alcohol or licensing premises concerns and our operation in regard to Miners Beach is still ongoing and actions have been taken with a few cases there.
"Overall we're very, very impressed with what's happened over summer."
Police have also been carrying out checks on Miners Beach after they joined forces with National Parks and Wildlife in December following a spike in complaints about lewd and inappropriate behaviour.
While police have been fielding calls regarding social distancing offences, most people have complied when asked.
"We haven't had the issues other places have been having where they're having beach parties or 100 people gathering at houses or in public places," Inspector Aldridge said.
"We've been lucky enough in most instances we've had to attend where people have sat down on the grass with a group of family or friends and they're not social distancing.
"But when reminded when we do turn up they comply straight away so we're very fortunate in that regard."
A minor scuffle at Lake Cathie involving a number of teenage boys was the only incident during an otherwise impressive Australia Day.
"We're very impressed with the people's behaviour and the behaviour in relation to COVID; we had no major dramas anywhere in town," he said.
"The community has come on board with the public order and the visitors to the town appreciate what a beautiful place it is."
