A 23-year-old man has had a lucky escape after a skydiving accident on January 16. At around 2pm, emergency services were called after he suffered lower leg and lumbar injuries when he hit the ground despite his parachute opening before impact. Upon arrival, ambulance officers confirmed the man had lower leg and limb pain before he was taken to Port Macquarie Base Hospital where he was kept overnight for observation.
