Club president Greg Alchin said for nearly a decade the club was unable to hold any night-time events due to the insufficient lighting.
That has now changed following the installation of nearly 10 LED light towers which can provide light of up to 700 lux across the precinct.
The state government provided almost $115,000 for the project under its Infrastructure Grants Program.
"The new lights will allow us to play tournaments of a night so if we have an Australian Money Tournament (sanctioned by Tennis Australia) postponed or cancelled through the weather we can reschedule matches," Mr Alchin said.
"It would mean open men's and women's matches could be played during the evening."
Mr Alchin felt the old lights had not been up to standard for the last four years in particular.
"Now we can look at trying to attract some stronger tournaments into the area so it will be good for the players that live here who don't have to travel as much," he said.
"That can be quite costly for them."
While the calendar for 2021 has already been released, Mr Alchin was hopeful of gaining an event in 2022.
"We're going to put our hat into the ring to get something in Port Macquarie next year," he said.
