It comes after Port Macquarie Can Too Ocean Swim Pod members put their blueberry picking skills to the test all in the name of raising money for cancer research.
Pod members have picked blueberries over three days at Comboyne's Ticoba Blueberries and Avocados with their picking earnings go towards their fundraising target in support of Can Too.
The Can Too Foundation is an independent health promotion charity committed to funding cancer research.
Port Macquarie Can Too Ocean Swim Pod founding member Leslie Williams said the blueberry picking fundraiser was a little bit different.
"Fundraising is a bit challenging at the moment so we have tried to think a little bit differently," she said.
Mrs Williams said it was also a great way to help the farmer.
Ticoba Blueberries and Avocados director Penny Tideman said it was a great initiative.
"We've had trouble finding pickers and it's great to have people come up here, enjoy Comboyne and pick blueberries," she said.
Community members can do their bit for cancer research as well by supporting the pick your own blueberries and opting to donate their picking costs on any dry day next week to Can Too.
Mrs Williams urged people to support the initiative.
"Hopefully a lot of people will come out here, enjoy the blueberries and support us as well," she said.
"We would be very grateful."
People can also donate online to the Port Macquarie Can Too Ocean Swim Pod.
Meanwhile, the Comboyne farm's blueberry crop is the best in a long time but the rain is having an impact at harvest time.
"We are struggling to pick in between rain showers and storms," Mrs Tideman said.
"We have a lot of fruit on the ground and a lot of split berries."
But there is still much fruit to be picked.
Ticoba Blueberries has about eight local pickers on board this season and not a single backpacker.
The farm usually has about 10 backpackers picking berries at this time of year.
