Minor flooding is occurring along the Hastings River at Wauchope.

Heavy rainfall has been recorded across the Hastings River catchment since Thursday afternoon.

Rain eased into the morning and the Hastings River at Wauchope has peaked at 2.64 metres.

The Hastings River at Settlement Point is expected to peak near 1 metre around midday Saturday, below the minor flood level, with the high tide.

Bains Bridge may remain closed until water subsides as well as many low-lying bridges across hinterland villages including Rollands Plains, Upper Rollands Plains, Pembrooke, King Creek and Beechwood.

There has been inundation of some businesses in Cameron Street, Wauchope.

Wauchope SES is monitoring the situation and has warned that should river heights continue to rise residents need to consider the impact of potential isolation.

Communities in and around Wauchope need to closely monitor the situation and plan ahead around possible road closures along the Oxley Highway.

At Settlement Point and surrounding areas, flood waters may start to impact low lying roads and bridges including Hastings River Drive and Settlement Point Road; North Shore - Shoreline Drive, Wombat Close, Dolphin Court and Marlin Place; and Maria River Road.

Farmers on low lying land close to rivers and creeks are urged to monitor livestock, pumps and other equipment.

Waste and chemical containers should be located well above predicted flood levels.

Minor flooding is also predicted for the Camden Haven River today (January 2).

Camden Haven SES has warned that a minor flood is possible along the Camden Haven River at Laurieton with the high tide.

The Camden Haven River at Laurieton is likely to peak near the minor flood level of 1.10m around 11am.

Based on the prediction provided by the Bureau of Meteorology it is expected that flood water may start to come across low lying roads, bridges and causeways - it may inundate low lying properties in the area.

At Logan's Crossing flood waters may start to impact low lying areas causing the possible closure of Logan's Crossing Bridge and isolation of rural properties north of Black Creek Bridge and Swan's Crossing camp site.

At Laurieton, North Haven and Dunbogan, low lying streets including Dunbogan and Diamond Waters Caravan Park may start to flood.

Diamond Head Road, Camden Head Road and The Boulevard may close.

Flooding starts on Ocean Drive near Stingray Creek Bridge between Laurieton and North Haven, and on Diamond Head Road near Dunbogan Bridge closing the road to Laurieton.

Mid North Coast Police District echoes SES warnings urging people in areas likely to be impacted by flooding to refrain from driving or walking through flood water.

At 10pm on January 1, Wauchope Police attended King Creek Bridge at King Creek Road in relation to a vehicle caught in flood waters.

The occupants were safely removed with the assistance of SES crews.

Police said with further rain anticipated in the coming days, residents must keep up to date with local road closures and "if it's flooded - forget it".
