The Bureau of Meteorology rainfall records for the 24 hours to 9am on the first day of 2021 recorded a 142mm deluge at Koree Island with Upper Rollands Plains bucketed with 114mm.
Waterways swelled with flash flooding cutting off bridges and roadways across the village regions between Wauchope and Telegraph Point.
It is the second time in less than a month these regions have experienced flooding and the impacts of swiftly rising creeks and rivers on local infrastructure.
Comboyne recorded 128mm, Mount Seaview 104mm, Kindee 112mm and Long Flat 103mm in a band of thunderstorms and heavy showers from December 31.
Wauchope State Emergency Service (SES) was on standby for minor flooding across the region while traffic was impacted on the Oxley Highway after a landslide at Mount Seaview.
Showers are expected to persist over the weekend and throughout next week with thunderstorms and heavy rain returning on Monday, January 4.
There has been little respite in the wet weather for the Mid North Coast with Wauchope copping the brunt of wild conditions after a supercell storm ripped a path of destruction across the township on December 28.
