Ask any local and you will find that they are absolutely disgusted with the procrastination from the council and the NSW State Government in their pathetic responses to finding solutions to the degradation of our once pristine Lake.
Who could not have noticed the rapid response from Council in cleaning up Town Beach so the locals and tourists could access the beach, but where our lake is concerned just endless talk and environmental impact studies.
Even blind Freddie can see the Lake in its present condition is stuffed. We don't need further studies to prove that!
Open it to the sea, build a breakwall on the northern side, and keep it open, plus get swamp dozers in and move the sand away as well as dredge both sides of the bridge.
All the development around the Lake and up at lake Innes, has caused sediment run off which is why the Lake must remain open.
Unless work is carried out immediately then we will have a monumental environmental disaster on our hands and no amount of action will remedy the situation.
