The day marked the first-ever Wear it Magenta Day that acknowledges different schools' support for the Sixers ahead of their Big Bash League season opener on December 10.
Kids finished the final session of the cricket program they had undertaken this term.
Northern NSW participation officer Mel Norup said it was great to see the students out having fun, wearing magenta and being inspired to play cricket.
"Everyone in the whole Northern NSW region could have done it, but Long Flat was the school from this area that wanted to do it," she said.
"There were a few others that wanted to do it, but were flat out getting a year's worth of things into one term."
Norup said it was a good way to get schools to show their support for the Sixers.
"We're hoping it will be a yearly thing, but it's the first year we did it which led into the women's Big Bash finals and the men's Big Bash," she said.
School representative Lindsay Dickinson said it was a good way to finish the program.
"The students really outdid themselves with the amount of magenta being worn and there were great cricket skills on show."
