TWO Mid North Coast Local Health District nurses have been named among the state's best at the NSW Health Excellence in Nursing and Midwifery Awards.
Mid North Coast Cancer Institute Nurse Unit Manager Amelia Bolt was recognised as the Aboriginal Nurse/Midwife of the Year, while MNCLHD Trauma Clinical Nurse Consultant Trish Lemin was joint winner of the prestigious Nurse of the Year title.
The eighth Excellence in Nursing and Midwifery Awards celebrated the outstanding achievements, skills and commitment of nurses and midwives across NSW.
2020 is the International Year of the Nurse and the Midwife and a time where the contribution of nurses and midwives has been highlighted.
If there was ever a time to pause and celebrate the 53,000 nurses and midwives of NSW - who make up more than 50 per cent of the state's public health workforce - it is now.
