Dean Castiglioni and his team The Port Pioneers are preparing to put their stamina and endurance to the test once again when they tee up for Cancer Council's The Longest Day challenge to help raise funds for a cancer-free future.

This will be the third year Dean, Les Witts, Paul Novak and Brad Leslie will be teeing up to pit their golfing skills at the Port Macquarie Golf Club for the 14.5 hour 72-hole marathon on Monday, December 14.
"This is something I am very passionate about," Dean said.
"My stepfather's twin brother Alex passed away early this year from inoperable lung cancer which he had fought for three years. And three of our team have lost family members to cancer.
"I am keen to rise to the challenge, hoping to raise at least $3000 to help those in the community impacted by cancer."
The Port Macquarie Golf Club is generously providing complimentary green fees and carts for participants of The Longest Day with the club pro, James Single a participant himself and staunch supporter of the event.
"Cancer Council is extremely appreciative and proud of all the teams who have already signed up for this event," Lauren Fraser, Cancer Council's community relations coordinator, Lower Mid North Coast, said.
